It’s Your Gyrl, Ms. Carmen aka Platinum Voice PR and I’m so excited about “My Second Featured Chicago Artist”!

I had the pleasure of connecting with this gentleman on the social media network, Twitter! We instantly connected and several months ago, I had the pleasure of experiencing his “Auto-Bot Ism (I made that up)!

I must say that I was highly impressed with his connection with the audience! If I didn’t know any better, I would have thought he was a signed artist the way he controlled the room.

His music had me speculating about what he had ready for the future! I especially like “Drop”his latest single featuring B. Ford! It had me wanting to attempt what his verses were asking for! I’m sure the ladies will feel the same way I do!

After being introduced to soul music by his father, he started writing poetry and hip-hop in high school and branded himself with the name Castor Troy. His name is from the combination of the character Castor Troy from Face Off the movie Troy and the rap song by the critically acclaimed hip hop duo, P Rock and CL Smooth, called “They’ll Reminisce Over You”.

Troy’s inspiration to formulate music comes from personal life situations. Whereas,  he holds an amount of respect for the growing culture of hip hop and music as a whole, he does not want to follow the current trend. Music is a constant change, lyrically, methodically and progressively. “Music depends on your flavor there are so many genres.” Troy is not afraid of opening himself up to a variety of music genres, “You have to have an appreciation for other genres”.
