It’s Your Gyrl, Ms. Carmen aka Platinum Voice PR and I’m so excited about “My First Featured Chicago Artist”!
In 2011, I was doing some PR work and my assignment was to call on “The Hottest Femcees” in the area for the “Eye Candy In Exotic Stilettos” event.
On this day, I had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Aisha Ronaye’!
This Diva has a positive spirit with a heart of gold and I’m honored to present to you…..
What makes an artist stand out?
Is it their talent?
Or is it the way that they command the room upon entering?
Well whatever it may be,
Aisha Ronaye’ surely possess “IT”.
Aisha Ronaye’ (I-Ee-sha Rah-Nay) grew up on the Southside of Chicago for her early years before she and her mother moved to the South Suburbs.
At just the age of two, she memorized her first song. She quickly developed a talent for writing poems which eventually turned into lyrics. By high school, she had developed the talent for writing lyrics and eventually songs.
Aisha Ronaye’ continued writing and recording and soon she had songs on the Chicago based film “A Get2Gether”. A couple years later her song “Da One” was played on Power 92.3 where it was voted top song of 2005 along with Kanye West, R.Kelly, and Crucial Conflict. That same year she recorded and released her first volume of “Gimme More Mixtape”.
One of her best mottos is “Never limit yourself because of others’ limited expectations.” Because of that she started her label SkyHigh Entertainment in 2006 before changing the company name to S.U.N.STAR ENTERTAINMENT.
Aisha Ronaye’ or Aronaye’ (Ay-Rah-Nay) has been featured on Dj Sean Mac Mixtapes, which were hosted by Rick Ross, and also released two mixtapes of her own. She’s worked with Grammy Nominated producer/engineer Phil Bonanno. Together they recorded a remake of the classic pop record “Rock the Boat” tentatively titled “Rock Ya Body”. The song was played on Power 92.9 and became a quick favorite.
Aisha Ronaye’ made a light internet buzz in Japan as well when she collaborated with the HotTwins and Red-T from Japan. In 2008 and 2009 she attended the BET Hip-Hop Awards and walked the red carpet. While there, her song “You Make Me Say” was played on Go-ILL Radio and eventually made it to Number One(2008).
She became very concerned with the children from the inner city dying from gun violence and recorded a song called “Moment of Silence”. She then recorded a music video for the song on the Southside of Chicago. The video was played on channel 25 in Chicago and Aisha Ronaye’ quickly set out to spread her message performing and speaking at schools, political events,(Patricia Watkins) churches, and shows. The song has been played on WBMZ Chicago, a popular Chicago Online Radio Station. In May, 2011 Aronaye’ was the “HARDEST ARTIST OF THE WEEK” on Status Tv.
Aronaye’ brings a new style and flavor to the game doing everything from writing songs for other artists, video editing, poetry, co-production and much more. And although she prides herself in Songwriting she is looking to make some moves in film as well.
Aisha Ronaye’s heart and live performance are sure to bring New Life to the Hip-Hop culture.
