It’s Your Gyrl, Ms. Carmen aka Platinum Voice PR bringing another relevant topic to you!
When I question artists about a website, they always ask “WHY DO I NEED A WEBSITE?”
Well, you need a website that exhibits your craft and most importantly, your music. A few years ago it was enough to have a MySpace or Reverbnation page, but in the new age, that’s not working. You need to own a domain name and a fully equipped website, if you want to be taken seriously. Why? I’ll be more than happy to elaborate on that for you.
If you haven’t noticed by now, everything is digital, especially music. Several years ago, major labels and companies wanted to see a physical press kit for an artist to get become more familiar with them. You had to present physical copies of Mixtapes albums or singles, portfolios and etc. Now that we’re in the Digital Era”, everything is internet and social media driven. Physical presence will always be necessary, but your internet presence ranks supreme.
Your website is basically your electronic press kit and your “Internet Business Card”. It gives the interested party, a visual of your artistry in one place. Your website should display your bio, music, videos, show dates, contact/booking info and all social media contacts. This also makes it convenient if someone “Google(s)” you. It’s funny how some of you use that “Google Me” phrase very loosely and you are never found when the search has been initiated.
So with that said, invest in yourself and your business! And PLEASE…get your site PROFESSIONALLY done. Keep in mind that everything you put out is a representation of you and your brand! If you’re interested in getting a website, let’s talk. Payment plans are available with a 1/2 down payment. Your domain will be setup and your site will be completed to show you as an artist!
Make your brand shine!
