@MeekMill Arrested -Will Spend 3 Months in Jail

Hey Y’all!

It’s Your Gyrl, Ms. Carmen aka Platinum Voice PR bringing some celebrity news to you!

MMG artist, Meek Mill must serve time in jail!

Meek Mill will reportedly spend three to six months behind bars after violating his probation.

According to a report from Philadelphia’s Fox 29, the Philly rapper (real name: Robert Williams) is currently in custody, after prosecutors were concerned about “a number of recent incidents” with the MC. Mill is on probation for a 2008 gun and drug conviction, for which he served eight months in jail and began five years of probation in the fall of 2009.

Mill reportedly posted a recent photo of himself with a gun. A rep from the rapper’s label, Atlantic, declined request for comment.

A member of Rick Ross’ Maybach Music Group, Mill made his album debut with 2012’s “Dreams and Nightmares,” which has sold 406,000 copies to date, according to Nielsen SoundScan. His sophomore album, “Dreams Worth More Than Money,” is scheduled for a Sept. 9 release.

His MMG boss Rick Ross has addressed the situation. In a statement released to MTV News, Rozay vows to stand by Meek Mill, who is not just his artist, but his family:

“I created MMG years ago, my desire was to create a space where the most talented artists in the world could be nurtured and supported. With that came a commitment. I vowed to support these artist, through the good and the bad. Every individual signed to MMG is not just an artist, they are my family. And with family you ride, or you die. Yesterday, my brother, Meek Mill ran into some unfortunate legal issues. It happens. However, his team, our team, will continue to execute Meek’s plan as close to schedule as possible.”

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, Meek tried to appeal to his judge, Genece E. Brinkley, to no avail.

Brinkley expressed concern about the rapper’s ability to comply with his probation parameters, citing photos and tweets on social media.

Earlier this week, Mill confronted fellow MMG member Wale about his lack of promotion for “Dreams Worth More Than Money” on Twitter.
