FK is the hottest MC to come out of Miami in a minute and he has the clubs and radio stations going crazy over his hit singles “Don’t Know How To Act” and “I Need It.”
Produced by super-producer Rico Love’s production camp, the two party staples immediately get the floors turnt up and crowds in a frenzy as the Live And Let Live Records MC puts his stamp on the game.
“When you hear my music, it gives you goose bumps. My club songs are to get my foot in the game and to rock shows but I’m a storytelling lyricist. I want to be heard and considered as one the greats. I want to be talked about when people are getting their hair cut. I want to be mentioned in the same conversations with Jadakiss and Nas.”
Rhyming for over ten years and once affiliated with Game’s Black Wall Street Records and Nu Jerzey Devil, FK spits about his real life struggles of unemployment, being shot and stabbed, prison stints and terrorizing dope boys in the streets. His catalogue, also includes stories about loses and what it’s really like growing up in the streets of Miami because the city isn’t filled with a million “Tony Montanas” as other rappers will have you believe.
“Most of these rappers don’t have the story and the ones that have actually gone through real stuff have the least amount of fame in the industry while the perpetrators who haven’t been through anything, fabricating and portraying that image, they got all the fame and the money. I’m here to change that. I got the story and the talent, lyrics and metaphors.”
Jail can either make you or break you and for FK, the revolving door became tiresome as he honed his craft and wrote a few books and movies while inside as well. Locked up from the age of 14 to 20 and then serving a few bids after that, FK hopes to inspire people with his story and not promote it and send others down that same dark road.
On tracks like “Streets Is All I Know” and “Nobody Ain’t Perfect,” FK paints pictures with his words as he lets you see his life of struggle and what led him to get caught up in the streets. Apologetic at times, FK makes you realize that a lot of kids have to make manhood decisions at an early age that causes them to jump off the porch to help feed their families.
Passion and pain can also be felt throughout FK’s music as you can see the pen bleed in his rhymes. With over 20,000 YouTube views of his video “I Miss You,” the tribute track pays homage to his mother he lost in November to cancer and his daughter, who died on the same day after a hit and run accident.
Further trials and tribulation can be heard on tracks like “That Check” which details how anyone will cross you and how friendships can come to an end over money.
With several projects slated to drop this year including a “Best Of Both Worlds” type collaboration project with Miami R&B crooner Pleasure P, FK is a living example that dreams come true as long as you don’t give up. He’s what the game has been missing as he brings a message back into music with bars and wordplay to back it up.
“I’m trying to stand out, not blend in. It’s time for somebody who actually went through some crazy stuff that most wild people still in these streets can relate to. I’m trying to teach through music and change the world one hood at a time.”
